Seals, sharks and dogs can cause threat to Yellow-Eyed Penguins. There are predators in reserves along Stewart Island. Other threats are wild cats, stoats, ferrets, animals and humans are also dangerous to the Yellow-Eyed Penguins and have killed thousands of them, mainly when they are chicks.
