Most stoats live less then a year. When most females leave their nests they are already pregnant, but delay development of their fertilised eggs till next spring. Stoats can hunt both day and night.

The stoat has a lot of predators, such as leopards, lions, tigers, jaguars, cheaters and heaps more international animals. The bad thing is that they are predators to lots of native birds, such as the Kaka, Takihi, Kiwi, Kakaraki and the Kakapo.

Stoats can swim across gaps of up to 1.1kms to reach a near island.
The male stoats weigh around 325gms and the females weigh around 215gms.
Females are usually smaller then the male and they are around 350-400mm long from the nose to the tip of their tail.
